Binsheng’s (Huang Xiao Ming) life and mission are radically transformed when the star of his virtual world takes on human emotions and a virus from the game becomes an epidemic that affects far more than people’s computers. On a deeper level, the story explores the blurring line between virtual reality and society as well as the integrity of relationships.

• WHAT (is it?)

  Amazing is an upcoming fiction film from Shanghai Studios, in association with NBA-China, expected to reach over 100 million Chinese youth and young adults. On the surface, Amazing is an inspiring contemporary drama about a programmer who has been contracted to design China’s most popular thought-controlled virtual reality basketball game.

  The film is half English and half Mandarin and features stars from China, Taiwan and Korea, along with actor Eric Mabius and NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Scottie Pippen, and Dwight Howard from the US. The film is directed by Sherwood Hu and features an original score and songs by EarthTones Director Frank Fitzpatrick. Amazing premiered at the 2013 Shanghai International Film Festival and was released theatrically across Asia in September 2013.

  Through the use of inspiring story telling, great music, popular music videos, top celebrity and sports icons Amazing will impact millions of youth and young adults, inspiring them to overcome obstacles in their lives, pursue their dreams and work hard to realize their own potential. Via the theatrical release and the NBA online community, the film is expected to reach over 100 Million fans across China.

  In addition, the NBA is sponsoring a series of free NBA Fit clinics as part of their NBA Nation Tour throughout the country, teaching health and fitness to kids and their families.
